The holidays may be long gone, but another exciting time of year is just around the corner – booksale season! The Friends of the Metropolitan Library System will host their annual booksale Saturday Feb. 24 and 25.
The MLS Friends of the Library host one of the largest booksales in the country. This year's sale includes over 700 thousand books, with over 40 categories of books. Some rare and first editions are also available.
Friends of the Metropolitan Library System generously give proceeds from the Booksale back to MLS for services and programs. To date, the Friends have given more than $4.2 million in grants to the Metropolitan Library System. Some examples of projects sponsored by the Friends over the last year include staff scholarships for continuing education and over $80,000 for the 2017 Summer Reading Program.
