Under the direction of the Library Manager, the Engagement Manager II provides leadership and direction for the Youth and Adult Engagement Supervisors at a large library, or the Downtown Library. Assumes overall responsibility for supporting the Library’s strategic goals and initiatives by working with Learning Experiences staff and Engagement staff to provide relevant and timely programs and services inside and outside the library.

Governed by a 27-member appointed Library Commission, this large, diverse system of urban, suburban and rural libraries consisting of 14 full service libraries and four community libraries, serves 750,000 Oklahoma County residents. In 2016, MLS welcomed 2.9 million visitors and circulated 5.6 million items. This position will be assigned to the Midwest City Library at 8143 E. Reno Avenue, Midwest City, OK 73110.

Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education and Experience:

  • Masters's degree from an ALA accredited college or university in Library and Information Science.
  • Two or more years of personnel management experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Current motor vehicle insurance.

Highly Preferred Qualification and Competencies:

  • Enthusiasm for public service and the ability to work well with a diverse patronage.
  • High level of comfort with program planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Experience building sustainable community relationships.

Salary and Benefits: 

The anticipated hiring salary range is: $49,192.00 -$62,192.00.  This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
