African-American Authors to Appear at Library

 

In celebration of Black History Month, the Ralph Ellison Library will host over 15 African American authors Feb. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Among the writers attending will be Rhonda Swan, Crystal Perkins Stell, Monica Anderson, Reshonda Tate Billingsley, Grace Swift, James Wooden, Sydney Molare, Roxanne Zeigler, Michael Roberts, Vincent Alexandria, Minister Patricia A. Jones, Gayle Rogers, Meidha C. Holmes, Sean Chandler, and Yolanda Johnson.

Throughout the afternoon the authors will be giving book talks, publishing advice, and selling and signing their books.

"We are delighted to have such a variety of authors including Reshonda Billingslea who was previously part of the Channel 4 news team, and Crystal Perkins Stell, who was named Essence magazine's bestseller for November 2005," said library manager Susie Beasley.

The Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County includes 12 libraries and five extension libraries. Libraries include Belle Isle, Capitol Hill, Ralph Ellison, Ronald J.
