Most children love to play games, and they find as they mature that the games may change, but they still love to play them.
Librarian Ronna Davis recognizes this and is arranging a Game Night for Teens at the Edmond Library on Saturday, February 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
"The evening will be for teens between the ages of 13 and 16," Davis said. "It's an after-hours event sponsored by our Teen Advisory Board. The library closes at 5:00 on Saturdays, so all our regular customers will be gone by 7:00 and we'll have the building all to ourselves."
Davis and the Edmond Library Teen Advisory Board were inspired to arrange the event by Game Nights held by other libraries in the Metropolitan Library System that have sponsored the popular program.
"Our meeting rooms around the library will be set up to present certain types of games," Davis added. "One of the rooms will be a Retro room, which will have such games of earlier decades as Twister and Limbo. Twister has been one of the most popular games at other teen activities.
"One of our rooms will be the home of 'Live Jeopardy,' a comedy show with the Comedy
Commandos, a teen improv comedy troupe that meets at the Edmond Library.
