The Metropolitan Library System's Midwest City Library will be presenting its second annual Teen Job Fair on March 22, 2006.
Last year's event attracted over 250 teens and parents who were looking for summer jobs for themselves or their kids. Eleven businesses sent representatives to the event and considered it quite a success.
"All the businesses that attended last year," said MLS librarian Melissa Weathers, "said that they wanted to be included this year.
"One representative told us that it was 'exactly the target demographic for our summer jobs,' and another one said, 'it was probably the best jobs fair I have attended.'"
The Midwest City Library Job Fair is designed for teens 16 years old and older, but this year organizers are hoping that prospective employers will have jobs for younger teens as well.
Also on the agenda will be workshops on creating resumes and filling out job applications.
Any potential employers who are interested in sending a representative to the Job Fair can call the Midwest City Library Young Adult Services Librarian at 732-4828 for more information or to arrange recruiting space.
The Midwest City Library is located at 8143 E. Reno . The Job Fair is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System.
