Medicare Part D Program At Del City Library
There is no doubt that the cost of prescription medications has risen so high, millions of Americans need help paying for them. That's why the federal government initiated Medicare part D in January of 2006.
The Del City Library, 4509 S.E. 15 th , is sponsoring volunteers from the Senior Health Information Counseling Program. The volunteers will be at the library on Thursday, Nov. 16 from noon to 4:00 p.m. to help people sign up for the Medicare prescription drug coverage. Eligible Medicare participants must sign up for part D before the Dec. 31 deadline.
“This is a very important program for a lot of people,” said Del City librarian Sam Weehunt, “and since it is so new a lot of seniors don't know very much about it. We want to help them find out what they need to know in order to receive the financial assistance they need.”
Everyone is invited to attend the program but you must pre-register. Call 672-1377 for more
information.
