MLS Libraries Invite You To Touch the Trucks
It's hard to imagine any child who isn't fascinated by large vehicles-trucks, fire engines, tractors, semis, backhoes, dump trucks. But how often do city kids get to interact with the machines that get us from place to place and do so much of our heavy work?
If you love trucks, tractors and cars you are going to love The Village Library's Touch-the-Trucks Day. Come explore a wide variety of municipal vehicles and other exciting trucks and tractors. Meet the drivers and bring a camera for this great photo opportunity.
Kids young and old can not just touch the trucks but climb on them, sit in the cabs, ring the bells and honk the horns. And as much as fun as that is, it's even more fun to meet the professionals who operate the vehicles for a living.
"Lots of kids just fall in love with big trucks," said LaVetta Dent, Manager of Library Operations at The Village Library. "When they come to see us to get an up and close and personal view of the trucks, they can then take home some books about large vehicles from our library collection.
"And when I say 'kids'," Dent added with a laugh, "I mean kids of all ages."
Touch-the-Trucks Day at The Village Library is Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The Village Library is located at 10307 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
