Philharmonic Musicians to Perform

Members of the Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra will present entertaining, educational and interactive programs for all ages at the Bethany and Belle Isle Libraries in March. The library presentations are one of many ways the OSO contributes to the community providing musical education by giving some insight into orchestral instruments and the lives of famous composers.

The symphony's Atomic Trio will perform at the Bethany Library, March 25, 2 to 3 p.m. The trio on clarinet, trumpet and trombone will feature works set to poetry.

"We always have a great turnout when the symphony musicians perform for our customers," said Bethany librarian Sharon Nolan.

At the Belle Isle Library, March 26, 2 to 3 p.m. , the strings section of the orchestra will be represented and feature music from Bach and Mozart, to Scott Joplin and the Beatles.

The violin, viola and cello will be the highlighted stringed instruments.

" These fun presentations will explain how the orchestra serves the community and helps listeners better understand orchestral music," said Belle Isle librarian Ann Meeks.

Both performances are free and open to the public.
