Former President Teddy Roosevelt Visits Downtown Library

 

The Metropolitan Library System is honored to welcome the 26 th President of the United States , Theodore Roosevelt, who will be presenting a program on May 7 at the new Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library.

Actually, Dr. Gary M. Gray, a historian, actor and writer who is renowned for his brilliant and historically accurate portrayals of seven U.S. Presidents, will be presenting the program in the person of President Roosevelt.

Dr. Gray has spent years researching Roosevelt . He studied the President's writings-most people don't realize that Roosevelt wrote three dozen books-read biographies on him by many authors, visited his homes in New York and North Dakota , and traversed the course of the Panama Canal .

For the program, Dr. Gray presents Roosevelt on July 29, 1910 , in Enid , Oklahoma . He has been invited to speak by fellow Rough Rider and Territorial Governor Frank Frantz.

The Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County includes 12 libraries and five extension libraries. Libraries include Belle Isle, Capitol Hill, Ralph Ellison, Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library and Southern Oaks in Oklahoma City, as well as Bethany, Choctaw, Del City, Edmond, Midwest City, Village and Warr Acres.
