A View of Soviet Life to be Discussed

 

Dr. Aleksandr Timofeev, a Russian scholar visiting the United States , will speak and lead a discussion on the book Generations of Winter by Vassily Aksyonov Feb. 5, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library, 300 Park Avenue .

"Dr. Timofeev graduated from Leningrad State University in 1983 ," said librarian Darlene Browers, "and is in the United States on tour from the Pushkin Museum in Saint Petersburg to discuss the theme of Problems of Contemporary Russia: Literary and Sociopolitical Perspectives.

"We are fortunate to have this opportunity discuss the Russian experience with Dr. Timofeev."

A reception will follow the program.

Dr. Timofeev will also speak at the Edmond Library, Feb. 18, 2 to 4 p.m. He will lead a discussion on Inside Putin's Russia , by Andrew Jack.
