A. Introduction

There are many types of financial aid for college. It is best to first recognize the criteria upon which most financial aid is based and then determine the areas in which one may qualify. For instance, one may qualify based upon need, ethic background, academic excellence, ability in sports or music, or intended field of study. Most financial aid is obtained from government, university, and private foundation sources, but other sources exist.
