Born in Juneau, Alaska, Ernestine Hayes has written a memoir about the ups and downs of being a member of the Wolf House of the Kaagwaantaan clan of the Lingit. She was in and out of detention homes as a teenager and failed relationships as an adult. She finally returns to Juneau and her roots. She also reveals her inner struggle as an individual who is neither fully Native American nor Euro-American.
