Dungeons and Dragons Game Day for Teens at Southern Oaks Library
Dungeons and Dragons is a fantasy game powered by imagination that has been around for 41 years, despite controversy and labeling. The possibilities are endless and each game changes depending on the ‘dungeon master,' who is the storyteller for the game. Teens who like to play, or want to try it out for the first time, can head to the Southern Oaks Library, 6900 S. Walker, on Saturday, January 31, 11A.M. – 4P.M.
“The popularity of D & D over the past four decades hasn’t declined. It’s a creative and inexpensive form of entertainment because all you need to play is a rulebook, and the library has many rulebooks available for check out, “said John Hilbert, Southern Oaks librarian. “Games can be played over long spans of time and players can get as involved in creating characters as they want to,” he concluded.
Over 30 million followers enjoy D &D and book and accessory sales have netted more than $1 billion.
Dungeons and Dragons Game Day at the Southern Oaks library is lead by volunteers from Soonercon and is open to ages 12-21.
