OKLAHOMA CITY –Metropolitan Library System recently hired Cassie Spindle as the new Belle Isle Library manager. She began her role on Monday, July 31.
While Spindle is new to Metro Library, she brings 13 years of extensive library experience, most recently at Pioneer Library System’s Moore Library where she served as the Customer Experience manager. While at PLS, she also served as the Interim Information Services manager and Children’s Services manager. Prior to joining PLS, Spindle served as Literacy Services manager at Tulsa City-County Library System.
“Throughout my career, I’ve eagerly taken on new leadership roles, streamlined processes, empowered others to grow professionally, and created and fostered new relationships within the library system and the community,” Spindle said. “I look forward to continuing this at the Belle Isle Library and community.”
Spindle holds a BA in Human Relations and a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Oklahoma. She served on the board of the Moore Public Schools Foundation, the advisory board of Success by Six, the board of the Learning Disabilities Association of Oklahoma, the board of Kendall‐Whittier Youth Mentoring and is a graduate of Leadership Moore. She served as the president of the Oklahoma Literacy Coalition and is a member of the American Library Association, the Public Library Association and the Oklahoma Library Association.
The previous manager of the Belle Isle Library, Ashley Welke, was promoted as manager of the Edmond Library on May 1.
