Teens Get Their Cosplay On At Southern Oaks Library

Have you ever heard of “cosplay”? Well, it’s time you did.

The Southern Oaks Library, 6900 S. Walker, 631-4468, is hosting a Cosplay Tea Party for teens on Saturday, March 30, from 1:30-4:00p.m. There will be karaoke, fun, food, costuming tips and prizes for best costume.

Young Adult Author Rae Carson To Visit Metro Libraries

“Once a century, one person is chosen for greatness.” The Girl of Fire and Thorns, a novel of high fantasy for young adults, tells the story of Elisa, the younger of two princesses, who just might turn out to be the chosen one.

Author Rae Carson, who has also completed a sequel called “The Crown of Embers,” will be visiting five Metropolitan Library System locations from March 26-28 to meet her readers and chat with them about her books and the life of an author.

Spanish/English Story Time Comes to Capitol Hill Library

If only one thing were true about all kids it would be that they love to hear stories. Now the Capitol Hill Library is telling them their favorite tales the way they want to hear them.

The next meeting of Capitol Hill’s Bilingual Story Time will be Tuesday, March 19 from 6:00-7:00p.m. The session is for children ages eight and younger, with parent or caregiver. The library is located at 334 S.W. 26th Street, phone 634-6308.

Teens Learn How To Download Library Books at Edmond Library

Smart phones have become among the most valued accessories for teens. The Edmond Library can show a way to use them that many teens may not have thought about.

The Metropolitan Library system will present a workshop for teens called “eBooks for Smart Phones” on Wednesday, March 20 from 4:00-5:00p.m. at the Edmond Library, 10 S. Boulevard, 341-9282.

New Self Pick-Up Service Comes To Metro Libraries

How many times have you thought this: “It would be faster if I just did it myself”? If you have kids, the number will be in the thousands.

The Metropolitan Library System offers a service that speeds up the process of checking out books and other items you place on reserve. It’s called Self Pick-Up and it lets you skip waiting in line at the Check Out Desk entirely.
