Celebrate Black History Month at the Library

The Metropolitan Library System invites the community to celebrate Black History Month with original dramatic performances by Rhythmically Speaking.

We are continuing our longstanding partnership with DWe Williams and the Rhythmically Speaking performance team to offer an inside look at Oklahoma’s black history in a compelling and entertaining way,” said the library system’s outreach director, LaVetta Dent.

Belle Isle Library Welcomes New Manager

The Metropolitan Library System welcomes Ashley Welke as the new manager of the Belle Isle Library January 4, 2016.  Welke has experience with human resources, management and library operations. She began her library career as a children’s librarian and volunteer coordinator and later as a branch manager at the Moore Public Library.
