    Three local Girl Scouts had a great idea and they are sharing their idea with kids at the Del City library this month. Ariel and Ava McAffrey and Katie Prior, members of Girl Scout Troop 456, earned their community service pins and a ‘Blue Thumb’ for their efforts in water quality education.

    Meet Christiane Brandt Faris, local author and Oklahoma City University professor, at the Belle Isle Library, Monday, Dec. 1 at 6:30 P.M.

    Faris will discuss her new book, The Nicest Nazi: Childhood Memories of World War II, a reflection on her childhood under the regime of Adolf Hitler.  “You are the nicest Nazi I have ever met,” a comment made by a fellow volunteer during a fundraising event, was meant as a compliment for the author, but she regarded it as offensive and ignorant. Such comments motivated her to reflect upon her childhood during World War II and the chaotic postwar period.
