    Are you interested in becoming a published author? The Metropolitan Library System is proud to announce that submissions are open for our second annual Literary Magazine. This year we will accept submissions for short story, poetry, and non-fiction essay. All ages are encouraged to participate in this inclusive literary publication.

    The first Metro Library Teen Writing Contest winners were announced at an author reading session at The Paramount, 700. E. Sheridan. The event was part of the Downtown Literary Festival Saturday, April 16.

    What is fanfiction? And how does it differ from the standard fiction we have all grown up reading or does it? First let’s start with some quick definitions pulled from the internet. Fiction is a term used to classify any story created by the imagination, rather than based strictly on history or fact. Fanfiction is fiction written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular book, anime, TV series, or movie.
