Program Description

Event Description

With a special visit from Pete, a member of our Children Reading to Dogs team, who LOVES to listen to POETRY! Please register each child INDIVIDUALLY!

Ever feel like there are so, so many words? And how can you ever put some together and make a poem? Author Andrew Clements believes Haiku is simple enough- only 17 syllables, 5/7/5- that no-one can resist trying to write one! So join us during National Poetry Month as we read-

A Tale in haiku
of one adorable dog.
Let's find him a home.

And then have some fun clapping out syllables and writing our own haiku about the furry, feathered or finned friends in our lives! Your child will most enjoy this program if they are able to read well.
