Event Description

THIS WEEK OUR ADVENTURE IS A TAKE HOME KIT!

Join us every Wednesday in June for a GREAT DESERT ISLAND Adventure! Through a series of five STEM challenges, we will help a shipwrecked traveler survive and get back to civilization. This activity is best suited to gradeschool children and tweens ages 5-12.

Our FOURTH challenge will be to hydrate our hero, Sir Harley Houndstooth III. There will be four mini challenges to remove salt and sand from water leaving a thirst-quenching potable (drinkable) beverage. Be sure to check out the library's collection of books or databases to learn more about how dehydration affects the human body, about the water cycle and about the desalination process.

Kits are ONE PER FAMILY. Duplicate registrations will be canceled. Kits can be picked up at Northwest Library from Wednesday June 22nd through Saturday June 25th. Registered customers must pick up kits by Saturday 5 PM or call the library at (405) 231-8650 to make alternate pick up arrangements as any remaining kits will be made available to waitlisted customers on Sunday.
