Event Description

JOIN US FOR A RETURN TO IN-PERSON (Socially Distanced & Outdoor) PROGRAMMING as we kick off Summer Reading! This event will be held on the covered ADULT PATIO at NW Library. Seven groups can attend one of two Tuesday morning times. We will do an activity together and then you can take the rest of the kit home with you. Registration is by FAMILY (or close friends); please indicate how many children (3 max) will be at your table. In case of inclement weather, watch your email because we may have to cancel. In that case, you would be able to pick up your kits any time that week.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? In this WOODlands kit, you won't be "chucking" anything but you will be using (popsicle) sticks & stones, moss & "mud" to build a beaver dam! Then you'll test it with a stream of water to see if it blocks the flow. (If you would like to bring a small baggie of natural materials like leaves, grass or twigs with you to add to your dam, you are welcome to do that.) You'll also get to take home paint to mix colors & bring to life a wooden puzzle of a fox, squirrel, deer, owl or hedgehog (animal will vary) and a picture of a sleeping bat to color. Come learn about (and read) some amazing summer TALES of Oklahoma TAILS! Also, be sure to check out MOVE LIKE AN ANIMAL! (a ZOOM program by the Museum of Osteology) on Thursday 3 @ 10 AM and next week's RASCALLY RODENT Family Fun Kit!
