Event Description

The McGirt v Oklahoma Supreme Court ruling has sparked an increased interest in the topic of tribal sovereignty. Join us for a discussion about tribal sovereignty with UCO Professor of Law and active Muscogee Nation member Dr. C. Blue Clark. The program will begin with an interview before opening up to a broader Q&A session.

A former university administrator, Dr. Clark has extensive experience in Indian Country. He is the author of Lone Wolf v. Hitchcock: Treaty Rights and Indian Law at the End of the Nineteenth Century (1999, paperback ed.) and Indian Tribes of Oklahoma: A Guide (2009, Univ. of Oklahoma Press). Professor Clark received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He teaches Native American Legal Issues and Religion and United States History.
