Event Description

Interested in the paranormal? Do you like to create stories? Please participate in the Downtown Library's Paranormal Writing Contest!

The contest is open to everyone and will have 3 age groups for submissions. Prizes will be awarded for each age group.

Paranormal Writing Contest requirements include:

Paranormal Writing Contest: Kids (ages 5-12)
-500 word minimum
-Story must include 5 of the following keywords: Alien, Darkness, Monster, Night, Forest, Dream, Powerful, Vanish, Scream, Afraid

Paranormal Writing Contest: Teens (ages 13-17)
-1000 words
-Must contain the following sentence, "They told me there wouldn't be side effects...".

Paranormal Writing Contest: Adults (ages 18+)
-1000 words
-Must contain the following sentences, "A scream echoes outside. One by one the houses on the street go dark. My house is next...".

Please submit your story by October 31st. Winners will be contacted in November for prize pick up.
