About Southern Oaks Library
Southern Oaks Library opened its doors in its current location in 1975. This library serves the diverse educational, informational and cultural needs of south Oklahoma City and Oklahoma County. On September 25, 2012, a renovated Southern Oaks Library opened, showcasing its expansion from 16,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet. Local sculptor Joe Slack designed several sculptures outside the library entitled “Cover to Cover.”

The Southern Oaks Library welcomes the community to join in spreading kindness throughout the year. A kindness calendar will be available each month for library guests to pick up in person or available curbside.

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is a fitness program for older adults, which can be done sitting or standing. Exercise that improves strength, balance or fitness is crucial for staying active and reducing falls.
