What is “Come Read with Me” and how can I help?

It’s a program that pairs volunteers with children to enjoy reading in a relaxing environment.

  • You listen to them read.
  • They listen to you read.
  • You read aloud together.

You meet after school and during the summer at places that provide care for children.
No tests, no grades, no pressure. Only fun!

  • Do you like children?
  • Do you like to read?
  • Looking for something meaningful to do?
  • Want to provide your employees/students with the opportunity to serve your community?

"Come Read with Me” volunteers share in the joy of helping children find their dreams within the pages of a book. As one Community Center Director said, “These are children that wouldn’t be caught dead with a book. Now, after one summer with ‘Come Read with Me,’ they are comfortable taking some quiet time to read.”
