Description:

Clarence Jacob Blinn was born in Beaver County, Pennsylvania on June 24, 1886. He attended Yale Law School, where he earned his law degree in 1908. A year later he moved to Oklahoma City and opened a law practice. Blinn became mayor in 1931 defeating former Oklahoma City mayor and Oklahoma governor Jack Walton, but was recalled in 1933 before the end of his first term. After his time as mayor Blinn would serve as a judge until his retirement in 1974. The Oklahoma County Home for Girls, also known as Blinn House, was named for him. Blinn died on January 19, 1976 and is buried in Fairlawn Cemetery.
