Description:

The grandson of a German immigrant, Guy Liebmann was born April 27, 1936 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Liebmann graduated from Classen High School before attending the University of Oklahoma and later serving as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. At the time of is mayoral predecessor Kirk Humphreys' resignation, Liebmann was serving as Ward 8 City Councilman. He was appointed acting Mayor in November of 2003. After his brief tenure as acting mayor, Liebmann would represent District 82 in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013.
