Work/life balance – the Metropolitan Library System offers a wellness initiative emphasizing financial, physical and mental health. An employee assistance program is also available to all employees, and eligible employees are able to earn vacation leave and floating holidays.

Professional development opportunities – our staff participates in quarterly training on a range of topics. In addition, collaboration between departments and co-workers to establish best practice and foster creativity is encouraged. Staff are encouraged to pursue independent training on topics that are of interest to them as they pursue and develop their career.

Benefit structure – eligible employees have the ability to enroll in comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan in which the Library contributes 10% of salary.
