Outsiders and Banned Book Week Celebration

Event Description

Join us as we kick off Banned Books Week with a celebration of the modern classic The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. We will have a family friends car show starting at 2:30. The indoors fun begins at 3PM with 60s music, trivia, crafts, refreshments, and at 3:30 a talk by OKC University professor Tracy Floreani on the importance of both The Outsiders and the freedom to read! The indoor event will be geared towards teens and adults. 

After the library closes join us over at Full Circle Bookstore at 6PM for a reading marathon of The Outsiders. Local community leaders will do a read aloud of the text from cover to cover! 

All copies purchased at the event will go to benefit the Library Endowment Trust.
