Program Description

Event Description

Read the bones to discover the story written in them. Students will be introduced to the world of forensic science and learn how to identify pathologies (evidence of trauma and disease) found on a variety of animal bones and diagnose these pathologies on wild and domestic animal species. Pathologies and traumas covered in this class include bone fracture repairs, osteosarcoma, osteomyelitis, parasitic infections, bacterial infections, and gunshot wounds. We will also discuss different careers and professions that involve veterinary pathology.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The library is having work done to replace the sliding glass entrance doors, so the entrance to the building will be unsafe for guests to enter. The Animal CSI program will still be taking place, but has been moved next door to the Crossings Community Center.
