Event Description

Did you grow up in Walnut Grove? Have roots in Sandtown? Visit your family in South Town or West Town?

If you lived, worked, or spent time in any of the historic Black communities along the North Canadian River, the OKC Black Alumni Coalition in partnership with University of Oklahoma Institute of Quality Communities and Metro Library is interested in preserving your story.

Oral history interviews for the Black Settlements Along the Oklahoma River will be recorded every Tuesday afternoon and Saturday morning at Ralph Ellison Library through the month of February.

Feel free to bring personal artifacts and photos to share.
