Event Description

Calling all young readers! Join us for the Community Read as we discuss the award winning book A Duet for Home by New York Bestselling Author Karina Yan Glaser (The VanderBeekers). A Duet for Home is a triumphant tale of friendship, healing, and the power of believing we're never truly alone in the world, told from the perspectives of two sixth graders living in a homeless shelter.

This book club is in conjunction with the Homeless Alliance's Fresh Start Art Show in the Atrium of the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library from October 2-24. The art show allows individuals experiencing homelessness a creative outlet and also assists them in becoming permanently housed through sales of their art.

This book discussion is encouraged for children in grades 3+ and their caregivers to read and discuss together, but all ages are welcome. Read the book together before the book discussion on October 16.

Please register once for your family, and indicate how many will be attending the discussion. All ages are welcome, solo or with family!

You can reserve the book online at metrolibrary.org or talk with your local librarian to find the book for you!
