Event Description

Downtown Crochet Club!

Come join us working on our ongoing Heirloom Afghan Blanket project or any project of your choosing. We are a fun group and we welcome yarn artists of all ages! Feel free to bring knitting projects as well. Do you not have a project yet? We have supplies to get you started! We have a cart of yarn, some crochet hooks, some patterns, and lots of assistance :)

If you have never crocheted before or gotten stuck when trying without assistance or just would like to crochet with friends or even have an interest in showing others how to, then we are the space for you. Some example things that we can cover are creating your slipknot, gauging, magic rings, blocking, seaming, row turning, tension issues, when to frog, how to select the right yarn, and general troubleshooting when things are going wonky (If none of that makes any sense to you, do not worry because it won't sound crazy after you hang out with us).

If you have yarn or crochet/knitting supplies that you would like to de-stash, we will happily take it and add it to our cart of supplies for those getting started. We can unwind tangled messes and find a way to use scraps as well.

If you are unable to attend in person, but would like crochet assistance (or just cheerleading and community) then please still reach out as we have remote members as well.
