Program Description

Event Description

Join us for a new series where we learn about historical figures from the past who used their first amendment rights to bring change to society.  For our inaugural meeting we will be focusing on Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Jackie Robinson.  Most well known for being the first African American to play Major League Baseball, Robinson was also committed to using his status as a well known athlete to further the Civil Rights Movement.

This program will have a short presentation, followed by reading a book about Jackie Robinson, and a short craft.  If you like this program look for more on the second Saturday of the month.
