Ralph Ellison: More Than Invisible Launch Party with the OK Hall of Fame

Join us for an informational meeting and book launch celebrating author Quraysh Ali Lansana's book, Ralph Ellison: More than Invisible. This biography has been released as part of the "I Am Oklahoma Children's Series" by Oklahoma Hall of Fame Publishing. 

The author of over 20 books, Lansana--like Ellison--is a native Oklahoman who has produced meaningful and important contributions to the American body of literature. During his lifetime, Ellison published celebrated fiction and essays and received universal acclaim for his novel Invisible Man. Born in Oklahoma City in 1914, Ellison won the National Book Award in 1953 and received two presidential medals.

Because Ellison was a profound lover of jazz, Lansana's reading will be paired with a live musical performance by several members of the Classen SAS at Northeast Jazz Ensemble.
