Event Description

Come celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month here with us at the Ralph Ellison library branch. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord Pickens Museum proudly presents Oklahoma Originals: Jordan Tang. Dr. Jordan Tang was one of the world’s leading experts on proteases, vital proteins crucial to the treatment for HIV/AIDS, hypertension, and Alzheimer’s. His research has been recognized and honored by the Guggenheim Foundation, National Institute of Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the United Nations. He is the only Oklahoman ever to receive the Alzheimer’s Association of America’s highest research prize: the $1 million Pioneer Award. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about Dr. Tang, participate in activities and crafts, and will take home a book featuring him published by the museum's I am Oklahoma Children's Series funded by the Allied Arts. This program is open to all ages.
