Come celebrate Native American Heritage Month here with us at the Ralph Ellison library branch. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord Pickens Museum proudly presents Oklahoma Originals: Te Ata. Mary Frances Thompson Fisher better known as Te Ata was a renowned Chickasaw storyteller, actress, and cultural ambassador. Her legacy was dedication to preserving and sharing Native American traditions and stories with audiences across the world. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about Te Ata, participate in activities and crafts facilitated by the Chickasaw Cultural Center, and will take home a book featuring Te Ata published by the museum's I am Oklahoma Children's Series funded by the Allied Arts. This program is open to all ages.
