Event Description
Join us for this hands-on workshop to explore the rich agricultural history and cultural impact of African Americans on
farming and land stewardship—from the self-sustaining Black towns of the late 1800s to
modern food justice movements. After learning about the historic all-Black town of Langston,
Oklahoma, participants will imagine what Langston could look like in the future as a thriving center
of agriculture, community, and innovation. They will create a 3D diorama, participate in a
seed plating station, and prepare a healthy farm-to-table snack to take home.
