Program Description
Event Description
Reading Rainbows is a welcoming Pride Month book club for high school age teens and up, celebrating LGBTQ+ stories, voices, and experiences. Together, we’ll read and discuss books that spark curiosity, build empathy, and honor the joy and diversity of our community. All are welcome! Come as you are, bring your perspective, and enjoy meaningful conversation in a supportive space.
We will be discussing Let Them Stare by Jonathan Van Ness and Julie Murphy. From Emmy Award winner Jonathan Van Ness of Queer Eye and #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Murphy comes a bighearted story about friendship, love—and discovering the secrets and beauty of your own hometown. Gender-nonconforming eighteen-year-old Sully is ready to get out of their stifling small town, but when their summer fashion internship falls through, they're stuck--with no job, no car, and no escape plan. To make matters worse, they're thrown together with their archnemesis to solve a Big Gay Mystery, and--GASP! Are they catching feelings?!
