Program Description

Event Description

Shibori (しぼり/絞り, from the verb root shiboru, "to wring, squeeze or press," is a Japanese manual tie-dyeing technique, which produces a number of different patterns on fabric. Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by learning this technique and using it to create an indigo-dyed tote bag.

The minimum age for this program is 12. This activity is NOT suitable for younger children. Please wear old clothes and/or a paint smock, poncho, or other protective garment, as dye will stain clothes. Gloves will be provided.

This date doesn't work for you? No problem! This program will also be offered on May 11 and as a take-home kit May 10-13.
