Event Description

This course will offer you the basics of how to create a garden in your space, if you have a large home, apartment or a shared space, you can garden! You will learn how to prepare  the soil, choose the right fertilizers, seeds, and seedlings. You will also learn how to prevent weed troubles. Additionally, you will learn about practical organic gardening, as well as container gardening when space is limited.

This class will be led by LaTasha Timberlake of Lillian Timber Farms. Lillian Timber Farms is a Non Profit 501 C3 corporation established in 2019 as a response to food insecurity on the Northeast Side of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Founder LaTasha Timberlake returned to her neighborhood and hometown with the mission of uniting the community through gardening and teaching sustainable living practices. The mother lot, “The Lottie Lot” located at 2125 N. Lottie OKC, OK 73111, was installed with community and corporate donations along with more than 50 hours of labor from community volunteers.
