In honor of Women’s History Month in March, we will be showing short films from the award-winning series Unladylike2020, which tells the inspiring stories of little-known American heroines. Profiles of Sissieretta Jones, opera star and the first African-American woman to headline a concert at Carnegie Hall. Anna May Wong, the first Chinese American film star in Hollywood and fashion icon; Susan La Flesche Picotte, the first American Indian physician who also founded a hospital on the Omaha Reservation will be shown along with several others.
