In My Grandmother's Footsteps

The War Diary of Klara Mehlich Seuffert, 1940-1944

Join us this Women's History Month for a conversation with Clare Westmacott as she discusses "And Now I Am Alone," the upcoming memoir of her grandmother's diary and experiences during World War II.

Read Klara's Diary

On December 10, 1940, the day when her elder son was forced into war, Klara Mehlich Seuffert began to write a diary. The diary is being published online allowing the entries to be read exactly 80 years after they were written by Klara.
