EDMOND LIBRARY RENOVATIONS TO BEGIN IN DECEMBER
EDMOND, OK– Renovations to the Edmond Library will begin next month, improving the popular library’s energy efficiency with an all new HVAC system, roof, carpet, ceiling and LED lighting. The Metropolitan Library System’s Edmond Library will close on Dec. 9, 2019 and renovations will continue through Mar. 2020.
The temporary Edmond Express Library at Pelican Bay location, where Edmond Library customers can pick-up holds and return items, will open Dec. 16 at 1030 S. Bryant near Hafer Park.

OKLAHOMA CITY– The new state-of-the-art Bethany Library is set to open in November. The 23,000-square-foot library is much more than simply a new building – it offers a new library experience.
The new Bethany Library, on 6700 NW 35, will open on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at 10 a.m., and it is sure to wow library goers. The library features a makerspace with cutting -edge technology, tech-friendly community meeting spaces, a separate children’s programming/event space, outdoor reading porches and one-of-a-kind public art.

The Village Library Renovation Update: Week 6
The Village Library will reopen on March 18, following the completion of the renovation project which will include recarpeting and repainting the library interior, removing the reference desk to add additional larger public computer desks, adding a new service desk to replace the circulation desk and relocating staff work areas to make room for additional public study rooms. In addition, a family restroom, a through-wall book return and an additional self-checkout station will be added.

The Village Library will be going through a major renovation from January 21 until March 10. The library will be closed during the renovations. Customers should change in upcoming holds to an alternate location. Library locations close to the Village Library are:

Bids on major renovations to the interior of The Village Library are scheduled to be opened on Dec. 10.
“Over the last year, we have gone through the process of scoping and planning for an interior renovation” at The Village library, Morgan Jones, manager of planning and assessment for the Metropolitan Library System (MLS), wrote in a letter dated Oct. 9. “The inside will be reconfigured to best utilize the space,” said Victoria Stephens, the MLS internal communications coordinator.
