Program Description

Event Description

Bubble tea, also known as boba tea, is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. The beverage remains an important icon of the culture and food history of Taiwan. Brought to the United States by Taiwanese immigrants in the 1990s, bubble tea has become a popular drink across the nation, as well as a cultural identity for Asian Americans.

With this take-home kit, you'll learn more about the history of boba and have the supplies and instructions to make your very own cup of bubble tea.
