Event Description

Black History Month was created to focus attention on the contributions of African Americans to the United States. It honors all Black people from all periods of U.S. history. Join Almonte for refreshments and a film showing of Good Hair! 

Chris Rock, comedian, actor, and filmmaker, prompted by a question from his young daughter, comic Chris Rock sets out to explore the importance of hair in black culture. Rock interviews celebrities such as Ice-T and Raven Symone, and visits hair salons, stylist competitions and even an Indian temple to learn about hair culture.

Public showing rights are covered under the PPR License through Kanopy.
