Event Description

On Friday, April 16, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 12:15 p.m. CT Money Smart Week will host “Housing Protections + Resources.” This virtual event is part of Money Smart Week, a week-long initiative from April 10-17, 2021 that aims to help people, especially those hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, better manage their personal finances through the coordinated efforts of experts and educators across the country.

The session will help people understand where to turn if they are having trouble making rent payments. Homeowners will learn how they are protected under federal law from foreclosure and can temporarily pause or reduce their mortgage payments if they’re struggling financially.

During this presentation, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will highlight resources that can help homeowners and renters during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Money Smart Week programs are sponsored by the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is advised. Submit your questions during the registration process.
