Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a festive Papel Picado Garland take-home kit for kids! Create your own colorful paper banner, inspired by the traditional Mexican folk art used to decorate for special occasions. All supplies are included.

Here at the Downtown Library, we’re always looking for fun ways to connect readers with our collection of books. Thus the idea of a library book “subscription”, a connection between YOU the reader and US, your friendly neighborhood librarians.

Visit the library to complete a scavenger hunt exploring the Hispanic heritage of Oklahoma. Stop by the second-floor reference desk to pick up your scavenger hunt sheet. The sheet contains questions about the Hispanic heritage of Oklahoma.

Come be a part of our annual PUMPKIN DECORATING contest! You'll have two weeks to turn your pumpkin into an amazing work of art or humor based on your favorite literary characters, books or stories.

Have a spooky good time at the library by searching for literature's most notorious villains. Each week will feature five villains hidden amongst the shelves. Once you locate all five, come to the adult reference desk for a prize.

It can be difficult to take a moment to stop, slow down, and focus on something that’s good for our well-being. Pick up one of our monthly mindfulness journals filled with prompts to help you focus on your mental health! 

Pages & Prose Parcel is a four-month library book box subscription service geared toward children ages 8 – 14. Children up to age 18 may sign up, but the highest reading level of books selected will be Junior Nonfiction or Junior Fiction.
