Celebrate Poetry Month by adding to our Community Poet-Tree!  Throughout April, Almonte will grow our "Tree of Lanterns" by adding poetry "leaves".  We'll have leaves and examples of poetry throughout the library.

Come to the library and hunt for emoji clues to complete a famous poem! Draw or write your answers. 

You will receive a small prize and a copy of the poem when you are done.

Go on a birdwatching adventure—inside the library! Search high and low to spot hidden Oklahoma birds throughout the building. Follow each QR code that will take you on a journey to learn more about the bird species.

To celebrate National Poetry Month and the new spring weather, come participate in our Spring Poetry Walk on April 13th through April 19th located on the back patio at Choctaw Library.

Discover the fascinating world of bones at Nature's Open Book, a special exhibit from SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology! 

Owls swallow their prey whole, and their digestive systems separate flesh from bone. Later, they regurgitate compact pellets containing undigested skeleton bones.

Visit Ralph Ellison Library for a poem a day during National Poetry Month, featuring different poets, eras, and subjects. You just might find a new favorite!

Find clues around the library and learn fun facts about the Earth. Finish the hunt and get a small prize like a bracelet or highlighter.

The Southern Oaks Library Fan Fiction and Fan Art contest was founded by John Hilbert. In dedication to John's work, the contest continues to recognize the remarkable talents of people in our community.
