About Poetry Month
National Poetry Month was launched by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996 to celebrate poets' integral role in our culture and that poetry matters.
Throughout April, celebrate Poetry Month at your libraries with fun take-home kits, educational programs, and resources to help you craft your next poem.
